Description
Liven up your decor with authentic LGBTQ juju hat. It adds color, texture and volume to walls for a sunny decorating effect! Made 100 % by hand, the juju hat is a traditional Bamiléké (Cameroonian) headdress symbolizing good fortune and prosperity.
The origin of juju hat
Juju hat originated in the Bamiléké culture of western Cameroon. During traditional ceremonies held by the chief of the kingdom, traditional dancers wear Aka headdresses. This feather hat is made by experienced craftsmen according to ancestral know-how.
Manufacturing
Each Aka headdress is handcrafted from a meticulous selection of chicken feathers (from the food industry). These feathers are then hand-sewn onto a wicker base.
How to store a juju hat?
The juju hat unfolds like a flower and folds in on itself for easy storage or transport. It also protects the beautiful feathers. These sizes can be easily mounted on the wall or placed on a display stand.
Ethnic wall decoration
Juju hats are textured works of art. They dress up blank walls with elegance, given their impressive visual effect. Since then, the juju hat has evolved into a contemporary piece of wall decor favored by interior designers around the world.
Juju hat variation
We work with a collective of artisans, each with their own manufacturing process. There may be slight variations in shape, color or size from one juju hat to another. It's these differences that we love, and that make each piece a one-of-a-kind accessory.
